The World of Warcraft basement dweller stereotype has completely faded in the popular imagination. It seems like everyone who played WoW 20 (!!!) years ago, all grew up, got married, found stable employment, and had 2.5 kids who are now in middle school

Yeah many of the MDs I work with are all gamers who put in a decent amount of hours. Its a dying stereotype.

I actually know several people who are currently playing WoW. They're Millennials. Not married. Employed. Don't have kids. Still playing the basement - either theirs or their parents.
