NAP Wrote:Here is a synopsis of the requirements:
Associate in Science at Excelsior College â 60 credits
General Education for AS â 9 credits in two areas and 6 credits in one area
Humanities
Social Sciences/History
Math/Natural Science
Written English Requirement â 3 credits
Information Literacy â 1 credit
Arts and Sciences â 3 credits
Arts and Sciences/Applied Professional â 29 credits
Comparing your credits:
For the Gen Ed credits, it looks like you will either need 3 more credits in Humanities or 1 more credit in Natural Science. (I don't think DC Circuits will count as Science; you'll need to check. Even without that, you should have plenty of Arts & Sciences credits for the rest of the AS degree.) For Humanities, consider the Analyzing & Interpreting Literature CLEP for 6 credits.
You probably need Info Lit.
You need to double-check the lack of a math (quantitative) requirement.
By applying ($75) and sending in your transcripts, they should be able to do an unofficial evaluation to confirm your Free Electives section (Applied Professional) credits. Or you may be able to get this through the military office.
If I have taken all of the required courses, how much would it be just to get the degree. Is there some kind of mandatory class and what would be the cost. After looking at the website I am a little discouraged with the costs.
