Anyone have a list of Self-Paced and Competency-Based Graduate Programs?
#11
@jsd
Nice list! I purposely didn't include the WGU MSN programs because they seem to require a BSN, and I held off on Kaplan because I wasn't sure about what will change when the Purdue + Kaplan merger is finalized. I'll add the MSN, but I'll need another section to note the details

@davewill
Good idea. I should have time next week to work on one.

@kevinmane
Good catch with the MAPD.

Arkansas State has a handful of online master's that can be completed in 12 months. A few at 14 or 16 months as well. All of the programs are either 30 or 36 credits at $294/credit or in total $8,820-$10,584. So some of these don't quiteite qualify for your list, but it appears the following do:

Online Master of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education
Complete Coursework: As little as 12 months Credit Hours: 30 Tuition: $294 per credit hour. This price includes the administrative fee.

Online Master of Science in Early Childhood Services
Complete Coursework: As little as 12 months Credit Hours: 30 Tuition: $294 per credit hour. This price includes the administrative fee.

Online Master of Science in Media Management
Complete Coursework: As little as 12 months Credit Hours: 30 Tuition: $294 per credit hour. This price includes the administrative fee.

Online Master of Science in Education in Reading
Complete Coursework: As little as 12 months Credit Hours: 30 Tuition: $294 per credit hour. This price includes the administrative fee.

It's not very competitive, but for completeness, the new Purdue Global ExcelTrack program for $1550/term. I think the terms are 5 weeks, so someone could complete it for under $10K.

Thanks for that info! That Masters programs must be fairly new to their PL program, they used to only have undergrad degrees

Do you have any information on this, especially cost? I'm not seeing it on their site. Maybe they got rid of it. Their tuition is pretty steep on a per-credit basis.

University of Maine - Presque Isle has competency bachelor programs for $2000/full-time students or $1,750/ part time students (up to 11 credits) per 6 month term for unlimited credits. A bachelor in business - with a few different concentrations & a bachelor in liberal arts are being offered, there’s also a good list of possible minors to choose from. They’re adding one or more programs in fall 2019.
Things to note: They accept up to 30 credits via ACE/CLEP/ DANTES/AP. Participants should be 24 or older, have the equivalent of a high school diploma, and prior college credit and work experience.

Edit: totally didn’t take into account that you said graduate school, sorry!
