Essentially, because of the flexibility of my job and creative time management, I was able to work a lot of half and even some whole days at work on college stuff. Essentially my bosses viewed it as an investment in training and giving an employee skills and education at no additional cost to them other than my regular salary. I also dedicated a lot of evenings and weekends. So in short, I basically was able to dedicate the equivalent of a full work week toward my college goals for months. And I just gave up my social life for most of the year. Also, I think I misremembered when I started, and it actually took me more like 8.5 months instead of where I may have said seven.
Somewhere on this board, there's a thread where someone identified several Lower Level study.com courses that COSC transfers in as Upper Level because of the way they match transfer courses with internal courses. (If an outside course matches an upper level course that COSC provides internally, they give you the same upper level credit as you would've gotten for taking it through COSC. If it doesn't match one of their courses, they follow the ACE recommendations instead, from what I understand.) Lower level study.com courses have easier final paper assignment requirements, so you can theoretically take a couple "easier" courses than I did to fill Upper Level requirements. When I get more time, I'll try to dig up that thread and identify those courses.
