What does a score of 300 to as a percentage score on a dsst test? Or does the percentage change based on the specific fast test?
Example 300 is 70% correct.

DSST passing mark is 400 out of all the tests they have. Anything under that score is a fail. The scoring is weird, it's an average of all test takers and the passing score is determined from that exam, meaning 500 is a perfect score. Anything in between is determined by how much others are scored.

Yes I know this information but I asking specifically what a 300 is.
So are you saying there isn't a percentage for a 300.
We don't know percentages - they don't list it.
But 400 is passing, so I think that's 70%.

So if a school told me I only needed to earn a 300 to get Dsst credit. Are they setting the bar too low? Is a 300 easy to obtain?

Each DSST is different, each 400 could mean anything from 38% correct on the exam (Fundamentals of College Algebra) up to 67% correct on the exam (Principles of Public Speaking). All this does is gauge the "knowledge" the test taker has in relation to the % needed to pass for the exam, along with the test takers (median). It's hard to explain, yes, your school is setting the bar too low.
A 300 for Fundamentals of College Algebra would be 30% correct on the exam, I would really laugh out loud, that could mean a person who failed high school math, would pass this exam. Similarly, a 300 on Principles of Public Speaking would mean they may have got 50% correct on the exam - that in my eyes should be alright, as it has reached the 50% of knowledge. Here's an example link I found, I had a better one earlier but closed the browser by mistake. It explains the % correct to pass for each of the courses, so a 400 would mean anything above that % - some are relatively easy compared to the others if the test taker is very knowledgeable in that subject/topic.
