I know there are a few of us that got on this forum and got a degree (or are working on one) to teach abroad. Just not sure I'd seen anyone explicitly mention Japan. I've got family over there and getting onto a program like JET would be ideal. I guess I don't have a question so much as general anxiety towards the application process which starts pretty soon. I've got to work on trying to get a letter from TESU showing I'm expected to graduate in December though (since I cut it too close for September). Anyone had to do that? Is it similar to proof of enrollment?

I'd love to hear anything about some of us that went on to teach abroad or are planning to or anything really! I'm sleep deprived and initially asked a question about JET that turned out to be on their FAQ...

I'm trying to figure out if it's a good idea for me to enroll at TESU now so that I can a) Pre-plan credits, b) Get some things "officially" evaluated so I can see where I stand, c) possibly knock out the Cornerstone now rather than waiting, and d) Get the enrollment and some of the transcript sending done now rather than doing it at the end when I'm (presumably) rushing to meet a certain graduation date

But since I'm taking classes at a B&M CC right now to meet the "graded credits" requirement for my desired grad school program(s), I just wanted to check and make sure there's no weird rule that I can only transfer in B&M credits when I first enroll, or something like that.

And since I'm 19 and currently only have alt credits (no RA ones), I know I'll have to take the Accuplacer to get the age waiver. Does anyone know if I can simply have the Accuplacer score that I took a couple weeks ago (for placement at the CC) sent in, or will I have to take it again?

Also, are there any other downsides to enrolling now rather than waiting?

Also, I believe TESU just puts Credit down on the transcript, not a grade. Is that correct? And do I get credit as long as I get 70% on SDC? Not that I'm aiming for a 70, I'm just trying to understand how it works.

Thank-you in advance!

I am a Liberal Arts major. I am looking at pursuing the Social Science concentration.

I looked at what they say you can take under the Social Science list under the Knowledge of the Human Cultures. They list 4 Upper Level History courses. I was interested in taking some of the Upper Level courses on Study.com which are not listed but I see are transferable to TESU.

Does anybody know if TESU will accept other classes to fulfill the Upper Level Credits for the Social Science Concentration or only the ones they have listed? I will contact an advisor at some point, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this?

For anyone who has taken the capstone...I turned in many of my assignments late. I followed formats used in example capstones and I am not worried about length, but having turned in everything EXCEPT the first chapter (due to many formatting errors the professor said to truck on) late I am very worried.

So far I only turned in the 2nd assignment on time and received a 97/100. Should I attempt to get an extension? Just scared that I've duped myself :[
