I wonder if we will be seeing more of these $24K masters degrees from 2U after this announcement. That’s prolly around half price.

Same price as MBA from Boston University already in edx. Wondering which one more reputable?

Now that is hilarious! In all seriousness though, where you live could be a huge deal in this. If you live in New England, BU is king. No question. If you live in Minnesota, I am going to have to guess that University of Wisconsin - Madison is a bigger deal.

In the B-School world, folks stop paying attention to rankings outside of the Top 25 (give or take). Both of these universities are going to be fairly regional, so I'd say you are correct.

Hmm... I guess so, I really thought they would be a Top 50 thing but sometimes (depending on the industry or sector/ vertical), it would be an Ivy League or Top 10 or 25 thing...

Not sure if they are comparable. BU is a master of business administration. Wisconsin is a master of business analytics.
I guess it depends on what your goals are.
BU's online MBA program is more reputable for the simple reason that it's established and there are more reviews. Whereas this is a new degree and partnership for Wisconsin - first batch will be a guinea pig.

True for MBA program rankings. However, for MS or PhD programs, those don't really apply. Wisconsin has an outstanding academic reputation. In economics and business fields, their MS and PhD programs are top 20.

I’m gonna say anywhere outside of New England then Wisconsin will get the nod, and maybe even in most of New England.

The rankings don’t have a way to include the way major football changes the public popular perception of a school. Wisconsin is far more in the public consciousness than BU, and you can’t get away from sports being a huge part of that.
