My school requires a score of 49 or above to pass. This is probably a stupid question but does it mean 49 out of the 336 questions that is on the Substance Abuse DSST exam? If this is not true, can someone tell me how they grade it then? (I know the old version of the test called Drug and Alcohol Abuse use to have 261 questions)

The new passing score is 400 which is based on the new grading system. There is only about 93 questions on the actual exam, however, I'm not sure about the grading curve. I would imagine you would have to get at least 60 or more questions correct, but my assessment is not based on facts. I'm sure others here will chime in soon.

Generally speaking..... if you answer better than 50% (half + a couple) of the questions correctly you should meet the bare bones minimum passing score....generally speaking.

I took the Substance Abuse test today. I think I had 98 questions. It was fairly straighforward but I was not as prepared as I should have been. I started studying a little last week. Know (or be able to recognise) neurotransmitters and street drugs and you will do fine.
