What a great story! It reminds me of the adage 'What would you attempt if you absolutely knew you would not fail?'.

In this case, the downside of failing an exam was not monetary (e.g. Go for it - it's free!)...resulting in perhaps a bit of stretching towards an optimistic goal.

Be very interested to hear of your results - and it inspires me to 'stretch' a bit more myself.

Best wishes man - you inspire me!

2 HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT 486 05/01/2007 3.0 C

Woot! I am thrilled to say the least. I got the scores back fairly quick. I am now just waiting on Organizational behavior and Foundations of Gerontology from ECE and the Dantes-Management Info Systems (which I expect to take much longer). I honestly felt I didn't pass the HRM, it was going to be close for sure. So here is the tally below from the crazy week...

HRM B
World Pop C
Org Behavior ?

Just an update....passed MIS with a 64. Just waiting on the two remaining Excelsior courses....

In total for that week I've gotten 15 hours...9 of which are upper. Hopefully I have 6 more coming.

Congratulations!! Geez, I am sweating just one 6 credit exam that I've been studying for two months off and on (Humanities). I keep putting off my test date because I'm so scared of it. I have almost all of IC just about memorized by now and I did really well on the CLEP practice exam. I am thinking I am going to schedule it for next Tuesday and just take the plunge. I guess the worst thing that could happen is that I'll fail and be out the money and study time. I just can't get over the fear of it though....Sad

When I was on active duty I took at ton of tests. I went in with the hope of the guess factor.

I figured since they were all paid for, I would hope for the best. I passed at least one that I had no clue about. I think I took 6 or 7 in a two week period.

Hi Machelle,
It sounds like you are going to do very well if you are scoring well on the practice exam and have just about memorized IC. You CAN do it! Once you take it you are going to feel so much better. Smile So no fear! We'll all be rooting for you so let us know when your test is and how you fare on it.

Thank you for the encouragement. I appreciate it so much, because my gut feeling is that I'm just about ready for it. I am going to study a bunch over the three day weekend and schedule it for that Tuesday. I'm so nervous already. I will post my results afterwards.

Well I got my final two tests back and ended up with a B on Foundations of Gerontology and a D on Organizational Behavior  . Oh well, all in all I am pretty darn pleased. So the final tally is 18 hours in a week with 1 failure. I need 4 more courses for my Excelsior Degree and 3 of those I am taking traditionally starting in August. I need one more Upper level course to finish and will probably go with Psychology of Adulthood and Aging.

The test center does offer two tests per day, I might throw in the Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (I love the subject) Smile .

A big hooha to Instacert for the great questions and to everyone on the board who offered advice during that week....

Great results; you have to be pleased. Those ECE Org Behavior AND Human Resource Management tests are no joke. Congrats on the 18 credits and good luck on Adulthood and Aging; it is very doable with just IC. Lee
