A sad little story....
#1
Hey I'm new to this forum but I've been using it for motivation for quite some time now! Anyway I just had to get this off of my chest because it's driving me insane! Today was by big day I actually took my first CLEP test (Biology) and although I was nervous I just wanted to see what I was capable of. So I go to the ed. center sit down at the computer and start by going through the tutorials and get through the first section of the test. I went back to question 2 to fix it and then I click Exit Section assuming it would fast forward to the next part saving me some time....and behold I exited the whole TEST:eek: I am so depressed this is just my luck Sad and I'm pretty sure that this hasn't happened before....anyway I'm not going to let it get me down, my proctor is going to write a report and try to fix it but if not I'm going to be waiting six months...by then all of that studying will be out of my brain....sigh I'm ranting now I think I'll leave it alone. I just wanted to post this for any rookies like me...remember Section Exit = Test Exit! Be careful!

Wow, I am so sorry. I hope everything will be ok, and you can re-take the test in short order. Please let us know what happens with that. If they looked at your actual exam, you would think they would understand that it was a total error on your part and nothing to do with your ability to pass the test. Biology is a tough one to study for, let alone take as a first exam. I wish you the best. You could look at it as a learning experience, and it will give you a bit more time to study. I know that doesn't help much when you are smacking your head and saying, "Doh!" Sad

You might want to call the people at CLEP (collegeboard.com) at 609-771-7088 to see what they can do for you. You could tell them that a report was filed, but that you wanted to follow up.....I would do this if for no other reason than to speed up the process, while the biology info is still fresh in your mind (as I believe you'll get a positive outcome). I had a problem with a CLEP test once, and talked to them about it - they were very helpful. Besides, there's nothing to lose in giving it a try.

Wow so sorry to hear that, I took my first CLEP last week Monday and I almost made the same mistake, it was like a slit second and I was able to redirect the mouse.

I really feel your pain, but hey such is life and you will come out strong.

And it is ok to grieve about the exprience.

make sure you Follow up with College board like Tcc said.

I completely agree with this. Sometimes the university testing center can be slow in tackling issues like this. Sorry to hear about your trouble. However, as nobody can care about it as much a you, yourself, I would sincerely urge you to place a personal call to College Board and not exclusively depend on the third party.

Aren't there a bunch of "are you sure" messages before completely exiting a section? I seem to recall a button that says "return to where I was" or something similar.

Thanks so much for the support! I've gotten a good night of sleep and have calmed down a bit. I will defiantly be giving them a call thanks much for posting the number. I hope it works out but if I do have to wait I'll just do a little review every night so I don't forget everything. Next mission English Composition! At least I'll never make that mistake again! Thanks again this forum is awesome!
