Sometimes it takes a misfortunate event in life to "light the fire" and open the door to a new learning or research agenda. Apparently the PhD grad's grandfather was lost due to a stroke as their family history has instances of cardiovascular disease, she took a decade of her time to find ways to help others who may have similar health issues. I applaud her for the hard work and persistence in accomplishing this dream and goal!
