ASU and testing out
#1
I'm a Barista at Starbucks and they offer a scholarship through ASU... I was looking into their Software Engineering course(https://webapp4.asu.edu/programs/t5/road...NLINE/2015). I was hoping to be able to test out of all my general studies so I can speed up the process. They have a list of what they accept https://catalog.asu.edu/credit_exam... can you Trojan horse some of the classes with an associates degree? Like an AAS Degree in Applied Computer Studies from TESC or just a plain Associate in Arts.

I would email the school and ask them if they accept a block transfer of 60 credits with a non-Arizona associates degree. Also clarify if an AAS is acceptable as they often will only block transfer AS/AA degrees.

I found their BAS program that accepts a block transfer of 60 credits for an AAS degree from a regionally accredited school, but that's not for the regular BA program, and software engineering isn't a concentration.

Quote:Transfer credit is at the discretion of the Registrar of the receiving institution. ASU will consider credits from regionally accredited schools. Thomas Edison State College in NJ is regionally accredited

This is the email I got back today... looks like it'll be a credit by credit basis.

I would be very surprised if they agreed to a block transfer. This would be less likely than credit by credit evaluation.

I would suggest maximizing forms of credit ASU accepts and skip the TESC associates.
Currently studying for: Still deciding.

Done!
