Anyone majoring in Communications @TESC?
#1
Hello everyone.

I was wondering if there is anyone here on IC who is going for the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. I am seriously thinking about switching my major from BSBA to Communications.

I am trying to put a degree plan together for this Degree but need some feedback and assistance on the "Communications Requirement" portion of the degree.

I need 33 credits for the Communications Requirement including 6 credits that are required. Which leaves me with 27 credits I need to fulfill. My question is, out of these 27 credits, which can I test out of using CLEPS/DSST/TECEP/ECE? I am trying to test out of as much as I possibly can. Any classes that I can't test out of, I will just take at my local cc.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Peace be with you always.

Communications is currently my major at TESC. So far I haven't seen any CLEP's or DSST's that would satisfy any of the core communications requirement classes. I have been finishing up on the last of my Gen. Electives before taking those communications classes, so I guess I can't really be of to much help to you. But if you hear of any testing that fulfill those core requirements please let me know.

I'd love to see your degree plan when you get it together. I'm encouraging my students to pursue this degree.

I'm getting my BA in Communications from TESC.

Both the Technical Writing and the Principles of Public Speaking DSST exams count as communication electives.

Hope that helps.
