Exam Clustering/Overlap Feedback
#1
Hi. I'm just starting to pursue my BSBA degree. I've created a degree plan, and I'm now creating a exam schedule and study plan.

My plan is to complete my exams in "clusters" by focusing on inter-related subjects and taking advantage of overlap. I'll be taking the majority of the business cluster exams first, then humanities and social sciences, etc. My first exam was CLEP Principles of Marketing earlier this week. The exam overlap tool CLEP and DSST Overlap List! - Free-Clep-Prep.com was very helpful, but I'm still a little stuck.

The testing centers in my area have very limited availability, but I did find one center that offers two exam times every Wednesday. I'll be taking off from work, so I have to be efficient and take two exams in a day. I also want to try to balance the difficulty of the exams and avoid taking two mentally taxing exams on the same day.

Here is my tentative exam schedule:
Week 1 - CLEP Principles of Management and DSST Technical Writing (attended a seminar this week, so the knowledge is fresh)
Week 2 - DSST Principles of Supervision and DSST Human Resource Management (I figure that there should be a good amount of overlap, but I'm concerned about confusing terms and theories)
Week 3 - DSST Organizational Behavior and DSST Introduction to Computers (I also want to fit in ECE Labor Relations, but I have to take this at another testing center)
Week 4 - This is where I get stuck. I'm not sure whether to take DSST Business Ethics and Society and DSST Introduction to Business or DSST Management Information Systems or something else.

Here's the rest of the exams that I have to take:
CLEP Analyzing & Interpreting Literature
CLEP Human Growth and Development
CLEP Humanities
CLEP Introduction to Business Law
CLEP Introduction to Sociology
CLEP Principles of Macroeconomics
CLEP Principles of Microeconomics
DSST Environment and Humanity
DSST Foundations of Education
DSST Fundamentals of Counseling
DSST General Anthropology
DSST Here's to Your Health
DSST Money and Banking
DSST Personal Finance
DSST Principles of Finance
DSST Substance Abuse

I'd appreciate some feedback on how to attack these exams. Thanks!

i would say get MIS done as close to Intro to computing just to be safe. Those two over lap, but you will always have overlap with those business classes.

I finished all those business classes in a series and they all helped for the next one.

I took Bus. Ethics and MIS this past Saturday simply because I was down to my last 6 courses/exams. You know how we're always commenting on what is/isn't easy depends on the test taker? This was a case in point. Ethics was easy, MIS wasn't.

I'm studying for Money and Banking, and ALL of the feedback is about taking the econ tests, Prin. of Finance, and accounting before the exam. You may want to cluster those tests in that way so it's fresh. I would take each of those tests with an easier test 'cause they're not easy. Analyzing & Interpreting is usually considered easy (especially for 6 credits), keep that in mind when you match it up with another test.

Good luck.

I would suggest taking CLEP Principles of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics together. There is overlap, and getting the groundwork of Macroeconomics before taking Microeconomics is very helpful. That's what I'm working on right now.
