So COSC would use FCC names?
Example: FEM 113 Emergency Manager 1.00 SH P
FEM as FCC ?
Number as FCC?
Course Title as FCC?
Grade P?
1.00 SH as FCC?
on their transcript?
KayV Wrote:FEMA credits are above-the-line at COSC and generally used as free electives. They accept online FEMA courses as transcribed at FCC, but if you have in-person FEMA credits they might transcribe differently.
Here's the latest course list:

I currently have 20 Web Development Credits from Community College, 28 FEMA course credits and 8 ACE approved credits (6 TEEX and 2 NFA) My question is what are the best options to transfer these credits into an accredited college so that I can have a transcript available to apply towards my enlistment into the military with an advanced rank.

This is going to cost you $1200 at COSC.
Apply to COSC ($75) and enroll in the AS degree. It allows only 30 free electives, but that's ok. If you've never taken English, they'll want you to do that first - so enroll in English 101 ($377x3 = 1131) Do the class, and you'll have an official transcript. You can exit at that time or you can finish your AS. If you've taken English 101, then do 102 or Cornerstone. In my opinion, doing the degree will be more involved than working up to 60 because you need gen eds- granted you could do them all through SL in probably 6 weeks, but that takes some hustle to get that done (and more cash).

I agree with Jennifer except I really really think you should start with asking your current community college. You may be able to get them to add the FEMA/ ACE credits to your transcript without having to go through another school.

Yeah I have them on my ACE transcript.
The 20 CC credits are Web Development 1 & 2, Internet Business, JavaScript, and Marketing Strategies.
Not sure they would really make much of a difference in a degree plan. Also, The school is surprisingly strict on transfer credits. They have a challenge course option for around $250 for each course, but they aren't flexible with ACE recommended courses.
The reason I chose to incorporate the free FEMA, TEEX, and NFA electives is I am hoping to enlist and ship out within 2 months, so that doesn't leave m much time to do a regular 8 week course and maybe not even a 5 week course. If I had more time I would definitely incorporate the vast selection of available ACE recommended options to transfer into either TESU or WGU, but I am really trying nard to make this work.
If possible, within the next 2 months, what would by the easiest courses to pass and replace the 20 FEMA credits in order to transfer into TESU or Excelsior? If COSC is currently the easiest most cost effective, I will stay this course transfer them raw into COSC.
Thanks for the replies.

Alternative doing FREE (NFA 2 SH, Ethics 2 SH and add both to ACE) and now needing only 16 FEMA credits to 48. Buy 16 FEMA credits for $82 each and meet goal of 48. Now have 16 "resident" FCC credits also.

Army. 48 credits is E-3.
In order to receive credit for college semester hours or college degrees awarded, the college or university must be listed in the American Council on Education's Accredited Institutions of Postsecondary Education (AIPE), which include schools like Penn Foster and even Taft Law School, as well as many recommended by ACE and others accredited by DEAC.
I'm hoping to be cheap and fast with these credits, thus the reason I am asking the forum for help. I can afford up to $2000 for these course, but I'd rather not. It would pay off in the end, enlisting into a higher paygrade and being that much closer to my degree, but it would be easier on my family for me o find the best value.
