Advice for Computer Science degree at TESU
#11
To save on out of pocket expenses, do all the Sophia.org/Study.com you can for max transfer... You can always take one flat rate term at TESU, it's all up to how much you can churn from the company reimbursement. For the next year, go for the WGU Masters (If they allow 5K this year and 5K next year, you're good to go!)

Exactly, you don't want to take on too many things at a time, you should do one provider at a time as well, so it would be Sophia.org first, then when you've completed all you can transfer with Sophia.org, continue with Study.com until you've completed everything from them, lastly complete the remaining 15 credits from TESU to finish the degree.

@5050 Were you able to register for the Free Comp II TECEP?  I know we told you about it barely 2 days before the (free) Sept term enrollment was over.

And don't forget for the TESU BACS (only) you can take SOS-1100 through edX for about 1/3 the cost  - https://www.edx.org/learn/social-science...n-literacy

Well I wasn't able to register for the TECEP that starts 8/28 but I was able to for the one that start 9/25. I don't see a charge on my account so I guess it worked.

Thanks for reminding me Smile

Hmm...Did you check the financial information to see if there was any charges?
Or the Payment area to see if there is anything for October term? Please verify.
Interesting, they may have 'extended' this as they have more funds than thought...

While I was waiting to see a response on my other post about the Sept term, I added 5 TECEPs to my Oct term and registered them. On the schedule, it shows all 5 as Registered but not Started. When I click on the payment tab, it shows $0 for my current balance. I am waiting a bit to see if they "correct" this and send me an email saying it was done in error. Since I cant take the exams until the start of that term anyways, it gives them a few weeks to figure it out. I plan to knock them all out in the first Friday and Saturday of the semester before they can stop me LOL.

Wow, that's pretty good, if you can get it completed and open that very first week, you're almost in the clear...

Don't take SOS-1100 until you need to.  You shouldn't be doing anything at TESU except TECEP's if you want, and sending your credits.  Other than that, you register for that course at the very end, along with the capstone.

That way, if life happens, you haven't spent the money for the cornerstone until you're ready to almost graduate - and if by some chance a cheaper option comes along before you're done (like day, UMPI starts offering a CompSci degree), you can switch over if you want.  You're not locked into anything yet, which leaves your options wide open.

@bjcheung77 I checked again and my balance is still 0 at the moment.

@dfrecore oh I kinda prefer UMPI just because of the state school name so that would be great if they offer CS in the near future. I'll take the TESU stuff at the end. thanks!
