CLEP exam 20 year limit
#1
Hello All,

I was interested to see if going forward sending my CLEP transcript to ACE to get them added onto my ACE transcript was a good idea. Only reason I ask is 20years really isn't that long and If I ever wanted to use them down the road I wouldn't be able to furnish a CLEP transcript anymore. Does anyone know if this works or if after 20years they are just gone and all you have left is them on a transcript for the school you transferred them too.

I hope I am asking this question right, I am honestly super tired for some reason. Probably this Macroecon work I'm doing.

Consider this scenario.

1. You passed a CLEP in 1996.
2. It's now 2017.
3. Your CLEP pass is gone.

Now consider this:

1. You passed a CLEP in 1996.
2. You passed a CLEP in 2015.
3. It's now 2017.
4. Will your 1996 CLEP still show up on your transcript? Or only your 2015 CLEP?

Is the 20 years about keeping your records in an active status or is the 20 years is about your pass still being considered current and valid?

It never hurts to have backup documentation. I would transfer those CLEPs to your ACE transcript.

I did transfer my CLEP, DSST, and ECE exams to my ACE transcript. I did transfer my CLEP and DSST exams to my JST transcript. Better be safe than sorry. I can see me using them after 20 years.:iagree:

Didn't you have to jump through some hoops to get your tests on ACE or am I mixed up? I can't remember, but I thought there was something extra or different to make that happen???

It was a few years ago. I emailed them first to ask them how they wanted them? The cost of a CLEP transcript is cheap. Fact, I wish I had done it many years before as one CLEP or DSST exam was not listed in the ACE Guide anymore so I am missing it on my ACE Transcript. I do have it on my JST Transcript as 3rd backup.cheersmate

You can't directly add them yourself (I just tried). When I do I get this message.

This organization does not participate in the ACE transcript service. In order to receive an ACE transcript for these (CLEP) exams/courses, participants must provide an official score report to the Resource Center.
Please send official score reports to:
CEAI Resource Center
One Dupont Circle
Suite 250
Washington, DC 20036
For more information on the submission process please send requests to CREDIT@acenet.edu.
