Hello,
I am a new member and I have to take Analyzing and Interpreting Lit clep soon. Any information regarding good books or resources to prepare for this test would be appreciated. Also, since it is my first time, what is the general time frame to study for this test?

Welcome! You might check out the Specific Exam Feedback section for the books and resources. However, if you enjoy reading, can read somewhat quickly, have read a few classics (Shakespeare or Greek/Roman plays), and can generally understand what you are reading, I would recommend taking the test without studying. That's what I did, and I scored a 74/80. It might help to look over some of the technical terms, but I don't remember seeing any on my version of the test.
Good luck!

Hi there and welcome! There are a ton of different threads on this topic and the best feedback is probably in the member's section of the forum. If you haven't already joined and have many tests to take, I really would recommend it.
A & I lit was one that I took almost totally cold. How are your English skills? Do you feel comfortable reading a passage and answering questions for it? If so, this is a great test to take. I also took this one a week or two after my Humanities test, which really complimented it.
Check out the search function at the top of the page and if you can't find specific answers, let us know!

I took it cold yesterday, and I was able to pass. I passionately dislike literature and poems (no offense, y'all), so this one was difficult for me. I read about 9 pieces of work, and answered 3 - 9 questions about each piece. It took me the entire time to finish it, but just got done in time. I understand just about everyone passes this test.

I took this test without studying and I passed with flying colors. There's not a lot to study for because it's just reading passages and then answering questions about them. Just make sure you read the questions and then re-read the passages to ensure you have the correct understanding. I have taken 5 CLEP/DSST tests so far and this was by far the easiest. Good luck!

There's no real way to study for it. My suggestion is to take the Peterson's practice exams just to get a feel for what the test will be like...they are a pretty close approximation.

Just do the practice tests... study some literary terms (poetry, etc.) and take it. Just make sure you use all time they give you. Also, I found reading the answers and how they differentiated between two similar answers was helpful. It gave me insight into how they designed the test.

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun. Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior. And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.
