Anyone know if technical writing DSST duplicates anything with TESC? I need to fill in some general ed credits and was planning on using DSST technical writing. I started reading a textbook and it seems to be very similar to a class I've taken called professional communications. I know sometimes these classes overlap, but I wanted to make sure they don't duplicate each other and waste my time and money on it.

Hi,
Check your eval to confirm but it looks like professional communications is COM392 and dsst technical writing transcribes as ENG201, so yes it would help to fill your gen ed requirements.
The tesc course that is the equivalent to the dantes exam is ENG201 Technical Writing

To check courses taken prior (or courses interested in taking outside of tesc) you can plug in the course title or description keywords into the pla database to get an idea on how the course will be evaluated.
