I'm currently working on completing all courses available through the FEMA Independent Study Program (ISP). My long term goal is to become a Merchant Marine and to do so i must attend Texas A & M Galveston extension for a degree in Marine transportation.
I went the GED route so i do not qualify for the first method of acceptance which is being top 10% of your class in high school.
But Texas A & M does have the Transfer Articulation Pilot Program (TAPP) so i can go in as a transfer student if i earn 24 credits of transferable coursework in one of their participating community college here's the information that's posted on their website.
* have chosen and completed all requirements from one of the Texas A&M University program specific degree plans with at least 24 credits of transferable coursework that satisfies the degree plan (at the time of application) at a participating community college after high school graduation
* have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPR and a minimum 3.0 GPR for all courses attempted from among those listed in the chosen degree plan
* have met all transfer admission requirements (applications, transcripts, fees, deadlines, etc.)
I see that San Antonio College is listed on the Fema website as a participating school that offers a emergency management associates degree and it's also listed as a participating school for Texas A & M for their (Tapp) program.
I'm wondering if by taking a few clep test and applying the Fema credits to a associates from San Antonio College i can get something going in my favor? anyone has had any luck applying Fema credits to a school other than FCC and Tesc?
Here's the list from Fema
