Hello gang,
I'm Keith...brand new to the boards. From the bay area Cali. I am interested in getting my degree by testing. I am completely confused as to what steps to take first. I am wondering what my initial choices should be. I only have a few prior credits from a CC, so I don't know it it's worth transferring them over.
I want to get a Marketing degree. As of now I'm thinking EC is the choice....looking at the lowest enrollment fees. I'm looking to get the degree ASAP. Should I take my tests first and then enroll? Does anyone have any sort of guide to the list of tests I can take to fulfill a marketing degree?
Lastly, I was wondering if I could get some help with what I should do in terms of taking my first test. Which test? how long to study etc.
I am really grateful to find this site, and Hope to learn alot here.
Thanks,
~Keith

Hi Keith! You are certainly in good company here. I am not familiar with EC's requirements for a marketing degree, but I have a really good feeling that you will get rapid replies from other people who will know how to help you out there.
As for your first exam, I typically suggest that people start with a subject that they already know is strong for them. After all, that is the premise behind CLEPs existence to begin with - earning college credit for what you already know.
It seems like a relatively high number of people are either good at math or good at English. I already knew I was good at English when I started this journey about eight months ago, so I started with the English Composition with Essay exam and the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature exam. My scores were not amazingly high, but it was still a pretty good feeling to earn twelve credits in one day without studying at all. If you think about it, I earned approximately 1/10th of my BS in one afternoon, which really got me off to a highly motivated start.
Generally speaking, you will have to study for these exams. However, starting out with a subject that is strong for you may be a great way to help you get motivated. I know this strategy worked for me. Also, I am so glad you dropped in, Keith. I just became a Knight when I posted this reply to you!

Hehe thank you very much for your kind reply! I hope everyone on here is as nice and helpful as you! (or at least try)
Are there any free resources for studying the english exam? does EC require the exam with essay or without?
Another question I had..In order to transfer my scores to EC, will I need to be enrolled in a CC?
Thanks Again
