Hi,
I am trying to assist a friend of mine who wants to obtain her associates degree. I am looking at the big 3 for her. She has about 15 credits earned from a traditional community college. I was wondering if anyone could help me point her in the right direction. The main things are affordability, transfer of credits, and time completion.

Your fired... Oh wait, I am not Donald Trump and this ain't the Apprentice....
My advice.. You can go for COSC, the AS for 60 credits. Twenty of them can come from FEMA.
Total cost can be about $2400 to $2700 depending on courses she has completed and going to take.
If your friend is ever going for a BA or BS, it's pretty much a tie between COSC and TESU.

Same i would also recommend the WEst virginia colleges most of them have a 3 residency requirement so all her credits could come from SL (700-800) Saylor (free) , aleks ($20) ,
also saylor s only free when you give the certificate to wvup i know for a fact they give you credit for non proctored courses as long as they can find the course on the ace course list

If it's just for an associate degree, TESU does not require an associate capstone course for the Associate in Arts degree. They do charge $2000 just for the residency waiver though.
I think COSC is somewhat cheaper now if you factor in the free FEMAs.
The West Virginia AAS degrees are much cheaper, and she would only need to take one 3-hour course in anything with the college, which can run under $1000.
Do you happen to know which credits she has already earned?
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.
83 hours of ACE-worthy credits

Hi, she has about 10 credits from a community college, 6 Penn Foster classes that are ACE reviewed and she just took her first FEMA course and passed.

Tell us what she has....need a list of courses. Parts of the degree are pretty specific...for example has she completed English, Math and Science? number of credits is just a broad target. I had something like 130 credits when I earned my AS.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010
I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

Looks like 29 total credits to me. Really quick aty a glance she needs the following at COSC:
English Comp 2
Oral (try to get a waiver)
Ethics
A four credit Natural Science (1 credit from Lab)
Math likely OK
Global Understanding
Non US History
US History
Social Science
That's 22 additional credits she needs see the link in my Signature for some ideas on how they can be accomplished. added to her 29 existing credits that brings her to 51....so complete 9 more 1 credit FEMA

You should get your friend to complete the FEMA PDS Cert in the process. And also the free ethics course.
If she doesn't want to take the FEMA courses as electives, there are other free ones such as NFA and TEEX.
