I would definitely do the core before attempting the capstone. It really helps to know the "language" of business going into it. I really would also do the AOS courses as well - it should be your final course. The only things I did afterwards was Stats.

Previously, taking those courses (along with English Comp I and II) before the capstone was a recommendation, but as of Jan 1st, they are now requirements (or prerequisites). In fact, at this point, you must have at least 100 credits on your academic evaluation, including most (if not all) of your business core and AOS courses, plus English Composition I and II, before you can register for the capstone.
I can say that throughout the course you will be expected to draw upon and synthesize your knowledge of those topics as part of the work you do in the class, in each analysis you perform on the various case studies, and in the final project. Your understanding of management, marketing, and financial accounting are probably the most relevant, but all of those courses contribute to one degree or another.
Personally, I probably leaned on financial accounting the most since nearly every case study and several of the forum discussions required the use of financial ratios to derive trends from company financial statement. In fact, I'm pretty sure I ended up pulling 10-K statements for nearly every company we looked at–largely to understand how their financials have changed between when the textbook was published and today, but also to use those data to make predictions or show trends while writing up a case study analysis.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23
