In a job interview for a job I really want, the responsibilities include oversight of a system wide contract. I have experience in vendor management, but not this type of software/hardware? application. The companies that are being considered offer virtual application management, virtual resource management, XEN enterprise management appliance, end to end business continuity and In Context high availability. This piece of the job responsibilities are under the Needs Assessment responsibilities. The line for the responsibility says "establish system-level contract" and lists the vendors being considered. I looked up one of the vendors and tried to get an explanation of what they are doing and still have no clue.
Can anyone explain what this is to me in terms that I can understand? In other words, please speak to me like I'm a 1st grader. :o
