Wow, I didn't know there were 'global records' for this type of thing, I would have thought it came from institutions themselves who store records of student academic archives... I guess the people at Guinness need something to do and voila, this is one of those records!

It didn't really take him 54 years though. He had a 47 year break. He did go to another school and eventually went on to law school long before completing his original degree. It's great that he has the money, time, health, and mental capabilities in his retirement to complete a degree.
