#1
I was wondering if anyone could provide a roadmap for me for a BA in communications at TESU. I don't really know where to start. Any information will help thanks.

Do you have existing credit?

The degree requirements are listed here https://www.tesu.edu/heavin/ba/communications

I have a couple credits. Maybe I'm not being clear. I want to test out a lot of this degree but I was curious which websites I can use to do this. I don't really understand where to find spreadsheets that people make to follow a plan to knock out credits quickly.

First you'll need to know what your existing credits are worth and how they come in. Based on that evaluation you need to find (cheap) equivalent courses for every course that remains.
Please also see this post for a general roadmap: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...dit--24842
So you basically need an initial evaluation of your existing credits. After you arranged that, while you wait, you can start with the free sources.

Alright, I understand Im already a student. I just thought people on here already had plans set out for degrees from TESU. Like clep testing for certain courses from modern states and others. Example, I need to take some literature courses, which ones on modern states are equivalent to what is required by TESU? Maybe I just don't understand what this forum is for but about 8 months ago I asked a similar question about a degree in liberal arts and a few people sent me plans to knock out courses from modern states etc that were equal to the courses needed by TESU. Now I'm very confused. Maybe I need to contact TESU and ask them which free courses are available that would fulfill the requirements of the degree in communication.

TESU won't give you that information. Can you start by telling us which courses you have? I think some communications courses at TESU can't be tested out of.

At this point nobody besides you knows what courses you still need to complete.

As for CLEP perhaps this helps you: https://www.tesu.edu/academics/catalog/c...am-program , many providers offer similar lists of matching courses.

Hi there!

Unfortunately you cannot completely test out of a BA in communications at TESU.

In addition to the two required courses for most of all degrees that you must take at TESU, (SOS-110, capstone) there are also 3 courses that do not have any alternative credit - communication theory, and mass communications I and II. There is also an elective that can only be fulfilled with the TECEP, marketing Communications. As a result, it may make a better financial sense to do what I am doing, which is pay for Eng 298(?) Jane Austen, 1 credit course, to round out for 16 credits total in order to waive the residency fee.

You are welcome to click on the link within my signature, provided you are viewing the forum via desktop version. The link to the spreadsheet will show a tab for BA in communications degree that I have planned out currently. Let me know if you have any questions and please excuse any typos since I’m using my mobile.

HTH!

Danielle

I make degree plan spreadsheets and post them here.  I don't have the BA in Comm completed since I don't know where to get the 3 required courses - so I have those as $1000 each.  But you can probably find some for cheaper, and they can even be LL, so you could look at CC's.

Dfrecore is so right. However, personally, I am not considering CC courses as the cost plus the residency fee is not worth it to me. YMMV though! Good luck!
