Big 3 and other Bachelor degree options
#1
IFirst , I’d like to thank the posters on degree forum . I was able to get a pierpont AAS BOG degree in August . I have 69 credits currently and I’m still working on Sophia and study.com . With that said , what is my fastest and most affordable option to complete a BA or BS in general studies or liberal arts (since I suppose both of those would be faster than having a major . I’m looking for something as affordable and timely as possible. I know about the big 3. Charter Oak and Excelsior seem expensive. I’m enrolled now at UoPeople in BSBA with many credits but have a background in practical nursing and after a few business classes and it’s not very interesting for me . I know with general studies or liberal arts I can minor in something health related. (Health management, etc). Has anyone taken a similar route ?

Adding :

Your Location: USA
Your Age: Early 40s
What kind of degree do you want?: Bachelor’s in anything health related including liberal arts or general studies with minor in health related subjects.
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 15
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: around 52 or more
Any certifications or military experience? Licensed practical nurse
Budget: $3500
Commitments: 20 hours per week of job obligations
Dedicated time to study: 20 hours per week
Timeline: Need a degree by the end of 2025, so 10 months from now.

My priorities are getting are passing the cpc , obtaining a bachelors degree and with my background in practical nursing getting a job with health insurance or similar .

I could also keep pursuing the BSBA at UoPeople since they won’t let me switch back to BS Health Science since I’m at over 45 credits. However, BSBA is not something I’m very interested in.

Welcome to the board, great intro post with some info and the basic details within the addendum and template. COSC, Excelsior, TESU, and the ones we recommend are actually some of the least expensive options that are RA, including UofPeople now. Which state are you in? No, not the state of confusion, but where you reside.

If you're into competency based degrees, you may investigate the CBE options we recommend in addition to the Big 3... Basically, Decide on a degree/institution, and accumulate the max transfer of credits, then take the final residency credits to finish off the degree.
