What kind of degree do you want?: Business degree. My background is in Customer Service, looking to start switch careers
Current Regional Accredited Credits: None. Have started a class on Saylor and am planning to use Sophia, as well.
Budget: $4-6k, open to more if there are better options that suit my needs. Prefer to spend not too much out of pocket. Between fafsa/grants, I would prefer not to go over $1k out of pocket on other expenses.
Commitments: Have a part-time job and no other commitments.
Dedicated time to study: 30-40+ hours a week.
Timeline: Fast as possible. Hopefully 6 months-ish, if that's not too optimistic
Have done my share of lurking/searching the forum. Was thinking of WGU Business Management degree or UMPI's BA in Management and Leadership. Looking for fast/easy/cheap. In that order. Pretty open to ideas. If, for example, HR Management was a more useful degree, with better career prospects and so forth. Prefer tests/exams to papers, but not the biggest deal. Could also use advice on how long of a subscription to buy for Sophia, et al

For WGU, starting from scratch, here's what I would do:
1) CLEP College Composition w/Essay if possible, using ModernStates.org for test-prep + free voucher (6cr)
2) Sophia - get a 4mo or less subscription, and do everything else possible through them (42cr): https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Single.as...64&pid=162
3) Study.com - cross off everything you took through CLEP & Sophia, and take the remaining courses through Study.com (35cr).
https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Single.as...44&pid=162
My only caveat with this plan: I'm not spending a TON of time/energy on too many courses at Study.com, because there's really a point at which it's easier to do the course at WGU. I'm not certain which ones I'm doing or not, but I'm going to prioritize them based on ease, so anything that is quizzes only and no papers goes first, and then ones with only 1 assignment come next, etc. until I run out of budget. So BUS 102: Marketing is a definite yes, while BUS 314: Employment Law (with 144 quizzes and 2 assignments) will be way down on the list. You need to determine where that break-even point is in deciding which courses to add to the 33cr of required courses at WGU.

For UMPI, you're going to do the same analysis; what to take at UMPI vs what to take at Sophia and/or Study.com. My advice is Sophia for everything needed for the GEC and the Free Electives, and SDC for your lab science and American Government. Leave Composition II for UMPI as it's easier than either of the alt-credit options.

Have you checked out TAMUC? Since you're in Texas, it should be cheaper than UMPI or WGU.

In addition to that thread, I would review this one as well, it was started by the same original poster, but has some information you may want to review as well, in fact, you may want to review more posts by doing searches for TAMUC, UMPI, and any other institutions you may be interested in, such as UMASS Global even... You can start by getting a second monitor for multi-tasking purposes and completing 90+ credits from Sophia.org in a 4 month subscription. https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...hip-Update
