I've been teaching myself Koine Greek* in my spare time and thought it would be cool if I could find a way other than a PLA to get credit for it.
I'd much prefer a simple CBE test of some kind. I'm doing TESU if that matters.
Has anyone done this?
I know its unlikely but a cursory search hasn't come up with any results. I'm now studying for about 21+ credits in the next couple months and don't have a ton of time to hunt for it so thought I'd ask on the offchance someone's already done it.
Thanks in advance.

Liberty University offers Institutional Challenge Exams in Greek Grammar I & II at the undergraduate level and Greek Language Tools and Beginning Greek I & II at the graduate level. TESU can accept some graduate credit toward an undergraduate degree. Confirm whether TESU will accept Institutional Challenge Exams from Liberty.
For more traditional semester-based courses but cheap, now that TESU is open to NA credit, NationsUniversity (NA DEAC) may be an option. NationsU offers Biblical Greek I & II at the undergraduate level. You might have to take their cornerstone course A Search for Spirituality first.

This reminds me of an interesting read on salvage ethnography that I did a while back on one of my late-night random wiki searches.
Seriously, that's pretty cool. UNESCO documents and classifies languages that are endangered or extinct. I've possessed an interest in learning my Scottish heritage over the years and the dying Gaelic language.

What resources have you been using to teach yourself? I've been interested in looking into Koine before considering taking some classes.

I got a Greek New Testament (UBS4 with NRSV and NIV so it cost a lot less than the newer ones) and joined some facebook study groups and watch some youtube channels. There are some free apps like "Greek Study App" and "Scripturial".
I did the free trial of Biblingo, it's only a week but it was long enough to see it just wasn't working for me, Scripturial was much much better for me, it builds at a good pace, not overwhelming with too much new at once, and not boring with too much repetition.

Thanks! I'd never heard of Scripturial, so I'm going to give it a try. I've been thinking about going for the NationsU MTS in the next few years (for a hobby degree) and getting a jump on Greek would be awesome. I just wish Coptic had as many resources.

I was thinking of looking at Coptic next, so if you do happen upon any good resources feel free to drop em here.

Hey, by coincidence, I discovered what I think is a good Coptic resource. The YouTube channel Religion for Breakfast has launched its own site for lectures and classes, The Religion Department, and one of the classes they're doing is Intro to Coptic and a second class in January. It's live lectures from a Coptic expert, but the classes are available asynchronously. They're using The Gospel of Thomas as the "textbook."
I went ahead and signed up for both classes just so I'll have lifetime access to the VOD of the lectures and access to the learning community for it. It was $275 for both. You have to register before Monday (10/27) to be able to have access.
https://www.religiondepartment.com/learn...as-level-1
I signed up for their email newsletter to get an additional 20% off my first purchase, so it ended up being $220. The code is HELLO20. I think that's reasonable for two 8-week classes.
