COSC BS in General Studies with Business Concentration
#1
Who knew that Charter Oak accepts CLEP College Math to fulfill their math requirement? Not me, until I called to confirm this morning. : )

Since we have had a few people wondering about COSC's Business concentration, I thought I would post this for general information. COSC requires 12 more upper level credits than TESC, and also requires 2 courses you must take with them (Cornerstone and Capstone). They also require speech and two science courses, one with with lab. You can still use "raw" FEMA credits at this writing to fill up the free electives, though, unlike TESC; however, since you also have to earn 60 liberal arts credits for a BS, that only leaves a spot for 4 FEMA hours.

Also, many thanks to Burbuja0512, whose excellent plan I modified to update with the current general education requirements and current upper level offerings from TECEPs, now that several DSSTs have been retired.

I was able to utilize 26 FEMA credits in the plan below. You can do this by doubling up on some requirements. For example, Sociology is not needed because Macroeconomics counts as a social science in general education and for a business pre-req. US history can be replaced with The Civil War DSST which is upper level. Organizational Behavior is best taken as the Uexcel because it is upper level. Etc.

Plan for BS with a concentration in Business Administration at COSC:
Requirements: 120 credits (CR) 60 liberal arts (LA) 30 upper level (UL) 15 business upper level (BUL)

General Education:
College Comp. CLEP 6CR 6LA

Analyzing Int. Lit CLEP 6CR 6LA
Macroeconomics CLEP 3CR 3LA
College Algebra ALEKS 3CR 3LA

To my knowledge, I don't think any of these are being retired. If you scroll down, the ones being retired are marked with notes in red here:Test Preparation | DSST | Get College Credit

I know that some of these tests have been/are being refreshed. If you have information that some of these listed are discontinued, please let me know which ones. Thanks!
