A little bummed out
#1
I sent in my ITT official transcripts to Excelsior about three weeks ago, and just recieved the results. My english comp was the ONLY thing that transferred, 6 credits! I called them, and told them University of Phoenix will take 45 credits, as well as APU. The guy I spoke with said he's look into it, that it didn't make sense to him. Just wanted to vent a little.

Sorry to hear bro. I'm sure it's the whole accreditation thing. Found this on wiki: It may be impossible to transfer from ITT to a traditional university; per the ITT website, "it is unlikely that any credits earned at an ITT Technical Institute will be transferable to or accepted by any institution other than an ITT Technical Institute."

This was my brick wall in early 2000. Then again, then once more. Finally in 2005 I contacted Uof P and they wouldn't even accept 1 of my credits from my previous degree. So bummed. Then I discovered CLEP and TESC and I saw a bit of light. In 2006 I went ahead and took my first CLEP test! I started from zero and earned my degree in 18 months. A regionally accredited degree!!! You don't need those credits, start fresh. Testing along side of classroom makes you fly through the process. Don't waste time or energy. Now that you know better, do better and get moving.

Thanks everyone. I even went back to UOP yesterday since they accepted 44 of my ITT credits to get a cost for completing the 76 remaining credits.... ready? $45,125 WOW! I think I'll start from scratch a TESC

OMG I'm so glad you see the light. TESC will be a fraction of the time and cost. You'll be under 10K at TESC.
