Changing schools; where to go?
#1
So, I've completed everything except the corner and capstone for TESU for BALA with Organizational Leadership concentration.    I was about to register for the last two courses when I realized that my employer only reimburses for actual course cost...not fees, so I will end up paying $3,192 for the residency waiver out of pocket.  My employer reimburses $5000 a year.  I'm tired of doing school and want to be done.  Where would you go instead of tesu to get a similar degree done quickly.  All of my credits are ACE except around 35 RA from CC......I was sooooo close ?? Sad

You have 4 options: 1) enroll at TESU and take 16cr there, over 1+ years; 2) enroll in the flat-rate tuition for 16cr in a single term ($4,639); 3) transfer to another school; or 4) pay out of pocket for the RW.

1) If you decide to stick with TESU, you could just do the cornerstone and capstone, $3,114 and then maybe 1 easy course this year (another $1,557), totaling $4,671 this year. Then take 2 easy 3cr courses and 1 1cr course next year, totaling $3,633. Then apply for and graduate then. Free, but will take most time.

2) take 16cr in a single term, and choose the easiest possible courses (all LL) in addition to the corner/capstones. It would probably still be a lot of work though (although you could choose e-packs and do those courses first and get them out of the way?). $4639 for that option. So free but a hard 3 months.

3) If you post your credits, I can do degree plans for you at COSC and EC and tell you what you'd still need to complete there, and you could compare ease and costs.

4) You could also just pay for the RW, $3,192, most expensive but fastest/easiest option I think.

If you've already paid the residency waiver so I would finish my few courses. Transferring elsewhere means you'll have wasted that money. You also won't just have those 2 courses remaining. Even transferring to EC will cost you out of pocket and you'll have more courses to take. I would pay the fees and do the courses. This is the fastest route. Worse case scenario take out a student loan for the fees and then repay it. It's a small amount so it wouldn't take 10 years to repay.

If it were up to me, I would probably suggest the following in one term:

Capstone - 3 credits
Cornerstone - 3 credits
BIO-101 or CIS-107 ePack - 3 credits
PSY-101 or SOC-101 ePack - 3 credits
GEO-151 or AST-101 - 3 credits
Jane Austen: Pride and Prejudice (ENG-298) - 1 credit

This would get you to 16 credits relatively easily. The cornerstone is supposed to be very little work and so you'd really only have geology or astronomy plus Jane Austin to worry about in addition to the capstone. Pre-study for the ePack courses and take those exams ASAP.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

This might be a stupid question but if I've already taken those courses at another school or thru ace and they apply them as credit, I can take them again thru tesu?
I've taken bio, cis, psy & soc.

Why wouldn't you just do BIO-101, CIS-107, PSY-101 and SOC-101 e-packs?  Why one or the other?  Why science at all?

EC will cost $5850 for 13cr there (Info Lit, Cornerstone, Capstone and 2 UL courses, Technology fees and Graduation Fee), plus you'll have to do a few more UL courses through Study.com or DSST or something. So my guestimate is $1,250 OOP for fees + 2 months of Study.com.

COSC will cost $3181 (for Cornerstone and Capstone, Student Services Fee, Technology Fee and Graduation Fee). You'll need add'l UL courses. Probably $1269 OOP for fees + 2 months of Study.com.

Other schools will require 30cr of residency, so it's just a LOT more work to do there, wherever you end up.

Yes, you can retake these courses at TESU, they will replace your previous credits.

Those were just examples of what should be the easiest - because you've probably already done them. In this instance, I would not hesitate to "overwrite" ACE credits with TESU ones. Yes, you can do that. It will show up on your transcript as a "retake" if you do. I would not redo classes that you've already taken from another RA source.

They were just examples. I don't know what amberwalk is good (or bad) at. She's free to take everything but capstone, cornerstone, and Jane Austin as an ePack. But there is really a very tiny pool of ePack courses to choose from and intro Astronomy/Geology are usually relatively easy sciences. (Rocks for Jocks!) Honestly, given the org leadership concentration, I would probably otherwise recommend Industrial Psychology as an ePack but that doesn't look like an easy one to do.
