I'm going over the syllabus ( BUS 499 syllabus) and it says that the course it 8 weeks. Does it actually take that long to complete the course or can I do it quicker?
Also, according to the " net cost calculator" on their website it says that the books will cost $372. There seems to be only 1 book to purchase for the BUS 499 course and I am currently downloading the PDF. Does that mean I still have to purchase the book or can this be avoided -- essentially do they force you to purchase the books?
Thanks!

I don't see how you can finish early with the discussions and group projects, you maybe able to work ahead on some things though. You do not have to purchase the book if you have it.

I'm taking this course now (end of week 6). It is run like a traditional online course, so it's not possible to finish the class in 8 weeks for these 3 reasons.
1. You are at the mercy of your classmates to participate in discussions.
2. You are at the mercy of your classmates to complete the 2 group assignments
3. You are at the mercy of your professor to grade your assignments. (He grades weekly)
As for the book, you don't have to buy it. You just need the information, so if you downloaded the PDF, you'll be fine.

Awesome! Thanks everybody
Is the cornerstone structured the same way? Is it an individual course (ie: only me) with no group assignments?

When I took the cornerstone, there were no group projects, but we did have to provide paper feedback and do weekly discussion boards. You couldn't finish that class early either.

Cornerstone is structured the same. There are no group assignments, but you must participate in discussions. Unfortunately, that means you can't finish before week 8.

Thanks! I now have a much better grasp.
Can these be completed in 1 semester? That is my goal as I do not want to pay tuition twice

You can do 1 per session. Each semester has 2 eight week sessions, so yes, I believe you could complete in 1 semester.
