Charter Oak State and Penn Foster
#1
Does Charter Oak State accept Pen Foster credits?

They never accepted Penn Foster credits. They accept Penn Foster courses that have been evaluated for ACE credit.

As for now the most ACE credits are in their business program. Though unless you use them for one or 2 hard to find courses it is more expensive than Study.com, Straighterline or many of the ACE providers that offer the same ACE recommended courses.

I think the only place that takes them all ace recommended or not is Capella (they're a bit expensive)

Some schools will take PF courses - any other NA school, or a school that will take NA credits. WGU and EC are two of those that will (probably on a limited basis).

I think some people are missing your very accurate point.  There are two issues here.  Some schools might accept Penn Foster credits because it is an accredited school albeit nationally accredited.  COSC and TESU do not.  Excelsior will accept a limited number of nationally accredited courses.

Many schools, including COSC, TESU, and Excelsior will accept most, if not all, of Penn Foster's ACE reviewed courses because they are ACE reviewed.  It is much more likely than not that other schools will accept a very limited number of or no ACE reviewed courses as opposed to accepting most or all of them.  Note that most but not all Penn Foster courses are ACE reviewed.

And that is why COSC, TESU, and Excelsior are called the Big 3.

I don't think any of us missed that point.

You don't know if the OP actually took courses at PF and wants to see if they'll transfer to another school, or if they took PF courses that are ACE-approved and wants to transfer those.

So all posters here are correct - if they are just regular PF courses, then you need a school who will accept NA courses, and if they are ACE-approved courses, then you need a school that will take ACE courses.

COSC and TESU will take ACE but not NA.
EC and WGU will take ACE AND NA.
