I have a question for all of you seasoned CLEP exam people. I am signed up to take a few classes at Charter Oak College. My degree granting university has approved for me to take these classes. I happen to notice today while on their website that they offer 6 credits for the CLEP Biology Exam. I need 4 credits to graduate. If I take the CLEP at my school they are only wanting to give me 3 credits. So here is the thing - if I take it along with the two other classes and transfer it over - does the CLEP credit transfer over from Charter Oak as 6 credits (assuming I pass) since that is what they "would give me" or does my university take that and still give me 3 credits.
I thought because I was transferring two other classes I took along with the CLEP that I might get away with the 6 credits for the CLEP rather than the 3 - or do I have to transfer it directly from the CLEP people so it would be whatever my university grants - which is 3.
Just wondering if anyone can clue me in on this. Have studied and think I would have no trouble passing the CLEP if I had to take it today. Any help would be great!!!

I think it only matters what your school says, so it would only be 3 credits. Hope that helps.

Each school you want to transfer CLEP credits to will require a score report directly from CLEP. Some schools might accept an ACE transcript. Every school will go by its on equivalency policy. Someone once mentioned that you can pretty much launder credits from community colleges to public universities in Texas, but that doesn't apply here.
