Hi guys!
I'm new to this forum... I'm currently in college and plan to take CLEP tests so I can get college credits towards the courses I need for my degree.
I know that I can tell them where I want my scores to be sent at the day of my test. BUT... my school needs me to send my official transcript with the form that they have provided in able for them to properly credit me. Therefore, I would have to request an official transcript to be sent to me so I can send it with the form they have provided.
Basically, I need to know approximately how long it would take for CLEP to send me my transcript after requesting it (for me to forward it to my school with the form).
Also, is there another way I can do this?
I tried to call CLEP several times, and none of them gave me direct answer other than "it could take a couple of days.. maybe weeks... the school will recieve it fast... it will take the same time to send to you... " When I asked, I just need to know the safest time... a month? they say "well, maybe. It depends, maybe less, maybe more" Basically I was given the round-abouts
So I'm relying on IC to let me know based on experience =]

It took mine about 2 weeks to get to Excelsior. I think Ruddigore had to wait a lot longer for his, but I don't remember which post in which he described the experience.

has anyone ever had to get it sent to themselves?
I just thought it would be safer for it to get sent to myself so I can make sure the form goes along with it (which I will send via UPS for faster service)

Yes and yes. I sent out the money for my CLEP transcript in October. I gave it quite a while before I called to see why it hadn't gotten to me yet. They told me to wait 10 days. I waited at least that much before calling again. In the end, I had to talk with a supervisor who wanted to charge me an extra $20 to switch the address to EC's office (I was considering doing this instead). He ended up assuring me that he was going to send it to me and that he would personally put it in the mail. I got it. It was December by then, but I got it.

Why don't you send the school's form along with your CLEP transcript request and ask the CollegeBoard to include it with the official transcript so you can be properly credited?

Are you taking more then one CLEP? If so why not wait until they are all done and then request 1 transcript from CLEP. My results have taken from 3 days to 2 weeks to make it to TESC. By the way I could walk from Educational Testing Services (the CLEP people) to TESC faster.

I was thinking of doing this, but theres a chance that it could be misplaced. If that happens, I would have to request ANOTHER one to send to myself and basically start over. Some of these test I need a certain time.... I wouldn't want to risk it... I might as well have it sent to me (which should take the same time as sending it to a school) + a day for my school to receive it and I know for sure everything is in tact.

Yes I'm taking more than one, but some of these CLEP test are served as a pre-requisites of my courses... therefore I would need it at a certain time or else I won't be able to move on to the other courses...
The reason why I needed to know is because of this.... so I can properly schedule my classes out (with the estimate of dealing with the process) and so I can think of a back-up plan if i do fail & etc....

After my third call and me going to lose my ability to take a certification exam, one of the guys at CLEP walked it over to TESC for me:hurray: TESC then "found" the other two that were sent:ack: the whole mess took almost 3 months to work out.

Oh boy... well my school told me it would take them 2-4 weeks to post on my transcript AFTER recieving the scores AND the form... so I guess it's safe to say that I better do it about 4 months in advance lol (3 months for clep & 1 month for my school to process)

Does anyone know if the College Board can provide you with a paper transcript? I'm currently attending a CC, and I plan on transferring to a local university later this year. The university hosts "acceptance days" at my CC every semester. Basically, you provide the admissions advisers with your transcripts and they'll let you know immediately if you've been accepted to the university.
Obviously, I need paper transcripts in sealed envelopes. However, I believe the College Board sends scores electronically. Will they provide me with a paper transcript if I request it?
