Short version: i have to get 30 credits ASAP.
Long version: So i am a medical doctor who graduated from a med school outside the US (5 years of schooling). I have completed my residency and applied for a medical license in NY state. One of their requirements is that i have to have 6 years of schooling. So they are asking me to show 1 more year of schooling or to take tests/ classes that equal 1 year of schooling. Now, I have already accepted a job in NY but am waiting for this damn license; so i want to complete this task as soon as possible.
Can you guys advise me on what tests to take? Please keep in mind my medical experience. I am also interested in history etc.
I am not trying to get another degree at this time. Just want to fulfill this requirement of 30 more credits. If anybody has any advice about how to go about doing this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys.

I don't know about this in particular, but I know that NY is very picky about what counts as credits for teachers. They might be even pickier for doctors. The absolute easiest way to do it and not have NY question the validity of the credits would be to get a second degree from UMPI. If you already have a degree, they'd waive the GEC requirements. The BLS with a Management Minor has 6 classes (18 credits) that you'd need to complete: https://online.umpi.edu/programs/bls-man...minor.aspx But they require a minimum of 30 credits to be taken with them, so you could take History or whatever classes to bring the total up to 30. Downside is that this would probably take about 6 months because the latest term just started.
CLEP exams might be accepted by NYS. You could take CLEP exams for whatever subjects you didn't already take in school. CLEP exams are free through ModernStates or you could pay out of pocket. ModernStates has a list of CLEP exams here: https://modernstates.org/course/
ONU has a number of self-paced courses for $50/credit. You can see the list of Olivet Nazarene courses here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Ol...University
TEL has similar courses for $200 each but each course requires 2 exams: https://www.tellearning.org/courses-on-demand/
You could take TECEPs. These are pass/fail exams that should (but not guaranteed) be accepted. These cost $50/credit for LL and $75/credit for UL. Most/all UL TECEPs are reportedly more difficult than the classes that they replace, so it's not recommended that you take the UL exams unless you are very sure of the material. https://www2.tesu.edu/listalltecep.php
There are also UExcel Exams. These are worth college credit with a grade. This page lists TESU equivalencies, but it's also an easy way to see all the courses at once: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/UE...es_at_TESU Unlike the TECEPs, there are some UL UExcel exams that are reportedly relatively easy to pass even if you haven't studied. World Populations is one of those.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

World Populations is one of those. Do you speak another language? I wonder if the New York Language Proficiency tests would work for you? OR ACTFL language tests? You can get up to 24 credits by testing really well with ACTFL. Of course you would have to see what schools would accept them. There are threads somewhere on the forum. TESU maybe accepts them ?
I took the 6 credit Uexcel Spanish exam due to where I chose to attend now.

The New York language proficiency tests would probably work because New York. But I'm not sure that the ACTFL exams would. New York institutions seem to be very picky regarding credit acceptance and ACE or NCCRS credits might not cut it for such an important purpose.

Any non-collegiate credits (ACE. CLEP, etc) would likely have to be submitted on a college transcript as well.

I would think a combination of some things would be your best bet (not putting all of your eggs in 1 basket so to speak):
Take a UExcel exam (choose a $110 OnVUE one so you can do it from home) - 3cr
Take a TECEP exam (choose an easy LL one) - 3cr
Take the OPIc or OPI ACTFL exam - up to 12cr
Take the LPT exam - up to 6cr
Take the RPT exam - up to 6cr
Apply to TESU for a BSBA, transfer in all credits - send the transcript to the appropriate agency and see what they say. Best case is they'll take it, worst case is that they won't take SOME of the credits and you'll need more of what they accept. But the above is probably THE fastest way to get your 30 credits.
Actually, I'd probably also apply to EC and see how they bring in the ACTFL credits. I have no idea what they do at this time. But since you will probably take a UExcel exam anyway, it certainly can't hurt to apply and send in your credits and see if EC or TESU is faster and gives you more credits.

If they accept ACE and OP speaks/reads/writes a foreign language ACFTL is probably the best move on a TESU transcript. Add the remainder in Sophia/InstantCert/Study courses and it can be done in literally a week or two.
If it has to be RA credit then that will take a while but 30 credits signup for one of the competency based programs would probably be fastest, just get the credits and drop out of the program. Easiest just take lower level classes.

Further to the questions in regards to your required credits, we also need to know if they are lower level or upper level. If these can be exams or classes, etc. The more info we get, the more we can assist in helping you find those required courses.
If I was to hazard a guess, it would most likely be RA credits and at the upper level credit requirement. I highly doubt they would need you to get first year general education credits.
Anyways, just curious, is there something wrong with your school? Why was that "hidden"? I don't think anything would be wrong with that school if the licensing board is asking about other things...

Reading again the posted letter they say 2 years pre eucation and 4 in medicine. Since he has 5 years in medicine i understand that a transcript of 30 credits will be enough.... For me, in the phrased way it is presented. What they really wanted is another history. So sophia or anything in a transcript seems a possible option. Still... Asking will be the best option.
