College Mathematics
#1
Hello,

I am looking to take the College Mathematics Clep here soon. I graduated high school 6 years ago, and although I was very good at math, I can't remember most it it. Does anyone have some good videos/study materials that can help me out? Thank you.

These were my go to for my Clep journey.

Have you looked into the free prep course offered by Modern States? Complete their prep course and you get a voucher for the clep exam. https://modernstates.org/course/college-mathematics/

and the REA brand of practice exams and study guides are good for CLEP. I think this is the link to the prep book that includes exams. https://store.rea.com/0738612480.html
or look on their site for just the practice exams if you need less cost.

Your local library may have online access to the Peterson's practice exams as well so might check on that. Our local library participate in the state system with the Peterson's Testing and Education Reference Center and it has access to several clep practice exams. Your mileage will vary of course but worth checking if it's an option in your area.

What school are you taking math for? If it's for one of the big 3, Sophia's going to be a better choice. It's $79 per month and there is no limit to the number of courses that you are allowed to complete. With that $79, you can easily get College Algebra + a bunch of other credits. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sophia.org

If you're set on taking the CLEP for whatever reason, at least use Modern States both to study and to get the test for free: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Modern_States
In progress:

Have you checked and verified that the CLEP testing centers where you're located are open? Many are closed due to COVID. Sophia.org is a great alternative for ACE courses.

According to this page https://www.sophia.org/online-courses-fo...ing-credit Rio has accepted Sophia courses even though they're not partners or whatever. Might be worth seeing which ones you can transfer in.

So....

I've just finished the CLEP test for College Math, in which I squeaked by with a 51. I recommend if you have the time https://courses.modernstates.org/courses...17/course/ and I used a 1 hour long video on YouTube. Total study time was maybe 2 hours, as I ended up way busier than I initially thought when I scheduled. I can't send the link because YT is blocked on my computer, but I typed in College Mathematics Clep. Its very rudimentary, but the concepts helped refresh my memory as I haven't done math since HS 15 years ago.
