I'm looking for Independent Study courses which can be done completely online, including exams. Do any of the following institutions require sourcing out a local proctor for exams?
- University of Idaho
- Brigham Young University
- CSU Pueblo
- Lousiana State University
- American Public University

I took a course from Idaho Independent Study. It required a local proctor.

For CSU-Pueblo the answer is....it depends on the course. None of the six courses I took required any form of exam, I chose them in part because of that. Other courses they offer do indeed require exams and proctors, sometimes more than once. They publish a booklet (online) that includes each course syllabus, that should tell you what you need to know...
"Courses which require proctored exams are marked in the catalog with a (hand)symbol. Additional information is provided in the FastFacts Course Guide available on the Schedule of Courses page at
http://extendedstudies.colostate-pueblo....tFacts.pdf. "
I believe they will allow Proctor U as well, at least if you can demonstrate an inability to find a local proctor.
MBA, Western Governors University February 2014
BS Charter Oak State College November 2011
AS in EMS August 2010
I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

not sure if this will turn anything up, but you could also google "correspondence courses" which may give you a few leads.

I never had to do this, so I don't know, but is it difficult to find a local proctor for those schools that require one? Does the school help you in any way?

In my area there is a private proctor that I like. I've also used the different colleges (although they charge a lot more).

I believe some of CSU Pueblo's English courses only require you to write a couple essays/papers and have no proctored final.
