Concentration and Minors on Diploma
#11
Then I have to apologize to you for annoying you. It never crossed my mind that you will consider the discussion as a harassment. I usually don't discuss with people online at all unless there is a certain degree of mutual respect, and I respect you and your experience a lot. You have helped me a lot too, both in the PMs that you have mentioned and in your public posts as well.

Do not worry to much about your conduct on this site. Your comments and questions are fully comprehensible. And you also made a distinction between IT degrees in a formal sense and IT degrees content wise. In general, my impression is that there is a lot of confusion as to what IT degrees are supposed to achieve, especially in regards to programming capabilities.
If a student just wants to get some hands on skills in data science, It would probably be a much safer bet to just do a certificate that trains Python and SQL, than do a full degree in something more vague like "Information systems".

The UMPI BLS MIS or BABA PM/IS concentration is similar to the BSBA CIS AOS at TESU. It won't really be an IT degree, but may suffice for people who just needs a "degree" for checking the box as they may have IT certifications and years of experience... If you have the certs, degree, experience, it really won't matter for you as this Bachelors is going to be a "check the box degree" anyways. It will get you into a Masters in IT program if you have the prerequisites for them, such as PUG MSIT or their MBA, both being competency based. I think it's better to have a BABA/BSBA as you can be qualified for "business" and IT depending on your pursuits in education and goals...

I have 3. You can have as many as you want to complete but there has to be a difference of 9 credits between them. For example you can't do the Project Management Concentration and the Project Management Minor. Minors can be added onto the BA's as well.
