Considering SNHU BSCS, TESU BSIT, or any other BS in tech over UMPI BLS MIS
#21
Hello everyone! I didn't want to start a new thread for my next question because I believe it is a yes or no question, and it might fall into the "dumb question" category for those who have done this before. I checked the SNHU Computer Science wiki degree plan and noticed that I might be able to transfer a lot of credits, but I'm confused how these credits will transfer. My question is, can a Google cert alone knock down multiple courses? Google Data Analytics shows as equivalent to DAD220 and also count as a major elective. Thank you all

Yes, it can! That Google Certificate is worth up to 12 credits, depending on the institution. SNHU counts it as the full 12 credits and 4 classes.

Other schools count it for fewer credits. At UMPI, it's only worth 9 credits. WGU counts it as just 3 credits/units and a single class. https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Coursera
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

@cvieira, I would recommend doing the balanced mix/match trifecta of certs, degree, experience. You can review the Coursera certs that was linked and see which ones you would like to enhance your skillset, for learning/knowledge gaps, not just for the cheapie or freebies.

Correct, that's what I'm doing. I was just lucky to have the data analytics cert because of my previous job. Thanks again @bjcheung77
