I haven't sit for this exam but just by browsing the topics it appears there's an essay and a non-essay version. Does Excelsior take the non-essay version?

Any recommendations between Dantes or Excelsior Ethics exam? I just need 3 philosophy credits - doesn't matter if they are upper or lower level. I have a study guide geared towards the Excelsior exam, but could use instantcert for the Dantes test. I like that w/the Excelsior exam you get your results right away, but it appears that it may be significantly more difficult.
Any guidance out there from you more seasoned testers would be appreciated.

I've taken both and I would whole-heartedly recommend the DSST if you only need LL hours. You are correct that the ECE is waaaay more difficult. I passed the DSST Ethics with just InstaCert and I had to study my behind off and invest in EC's practice tests to pass EC's.

In light of this I've decided to take the DSST Ethics exam instead of the ECE. I've had to change another exam because the ECE was upper level credit and the DSST is lower level, but I think it's worth it.

I need to take Ethics as a requirement for EC BSN degree.(Not enrolled yet)Is the dsst acceptable? Does anyone have this info, as I planned to do the DSST since it is far less expensive---HOWEVER if It won't count for credit, of course I'd take the ECE.Please Help? Thanks!(My first post) AML ![]()

Excelsior accepts BOTH the DANTES Ethics exam AND the ECE Ethics exam. Either exam will fulfill your Ethics requirement. But, whilst the ECE version counts as upper level credit, the DANTES version only counts as lower level credit. Providing you can use the extra credits, you could take BOTH exams. If you don't need the extra credits, then you should just take one or the other, depending on whether you need UL or LL credit. Therefore, whether you choose to take the ECE, DANTES, or BOTH versions of the Ethics exam will depend entirely on what your specific credit needs are. As always, you should get verification directly from Excelsior. Hope that helps, Snazzlefrag

I think it comes down to the tester and their ability to comprehend/remember the study materials. I studied only the IC study guide for one week and passed both of these with a B. I'm not saying I'm all that, as I did the same with HRM, and failed. I just found this material more interesting, thus was able to grasp it better. There are some freaks of nature out there (Snazzhilarious) who seem to able to grasp it all. Some subjects will come easier than others, I take the "this test was easier than this one" talk with a grain of salt. The "easier" ones often turn out to be the ones that kick you square in the nads while the harder ones you properly prepare for and score well on. My point is, take each seriously, study/prepare hard, and you'll do well. Good Luck! Lee
