Great! I'm glad this is helpful.
And just FYI for people who don't know my history, or, why I am qualified to write about this stuff: I am not new to accounting. I got my degree last year, but I've worked in this industry since 1992, mostly as a freelancer. Well before I declared my accounting major in 2015, I trained many, many people about QB and self-published ebooks about it. Even people with advanced business credentials such as CPA and MBA came to me for help.
Over the years, I have watched many people with many educational/credential levels use QB and I could see that many did not intuit what I'm saying in this post. The aesthetics of accounting isn't very well covered at any level. This is probably because it is not well developed as a theory. But that's a shame, because I believe that it would help a lot of people develop their intuitions. Better intuitions would lead to better success it seems to me. So I guess that makes you all my guinea pigs. lol no but really, I do think I'm onto something here. Perhaps it will work better for certain personality/learning types than others, I'm not sure. I do know for a fact that what I said here won't lead anybody astray. Try it for yourself and see if it helps.

BSBA/Accounting TESU (2016). MSA UIUC (2018).
Need help with portfolios? I earned 18 credits at TESU through portfolio evaluations. Nine of those were for upper level accounting courses. My advice for PLA/portfolios: TESU portfolio tips The first post has the Portfolio Checklist I created. Page ten has the actual narrative I wrote to receive credit for ACC-440.
Using Straighterline's Financial Accounting as a substitute for TESU's Intermediate Accounting I? Don't do it if you are an accounting major and/or want your CPA license. They are not the same course and I think TESU has erred in accepting the SL course as Intermediate I. I made this discovery here: Intermediate Accounting II.
