Deciding which tests for which subjects?
#1
So i have come across a handful of subjects that are offered by different tests..
The three main ones are between SL, CLEP,and Dsst..
For example Macro and Micro, Statistics, business maths, accounting seem to be offered by SL and CLEP or Dsst..
I've heard ALEKs is best for when it come to my maths.. should that be a solid choice for me?
I just see a lot of crossing over, and im confused on what to set my mind on..

Im also looking over the "Unofficial TESC CBE Equivalencies Sorted by Course" list..
and it seems for a lot of subjects.. there are a few test possibilities.

Also, might be a good thing, but since there are multiple possibilities for certain subjects.. say i fail a CLEP.. does that mean i can immediately take the Dsst or SL for that course? Seems like a nice back up Smile if its possible.. unless its a 6 month wait for any test on that subject.

Any advice on choosing whats best for which subject?

Thank you

No worries. This could totally be a new thread. Yes, you can go ahead and try another type of exam right away if you fail a CLEP. I personally like CLEPs best and that's where I'd start, but others could have opinions on the specific subjects.

You need to find what method works best for you. Some people learn better on their own and test well so they like CLEP, sometimes it is easier to find a testing center that offers DSST so that can weigh into your decision. I have used ALEKS and found it worked well for me, others hate it. I am taking my first Straighterline course now and I hate it, some others love straighterline. So you have to find what works best for you and then choose which to do for each subject. Yes if you fail a CLEP you can still take another method immediately you just can't take that CLEP for 6 months.
