Wow, what a great thread. I had previously dismissed DAU because I'm not DoD-affiliated. Reading through those posts, it seems not to actually be a requirement.
Just what I don't need - another distracting source of unnecessary free credits. Still might try a few and see what happens. Ninja edit to add some relevant links: Registering for an account is VERY non-intuitive. Start by going to their Course Eligibility and Registration FAQ page. That has most of the info you need to know. Anyone who works for an organization that directly or indirectly supports a DoD agency is eligible. This seems to be interpreted quite broadly. See this pdf guide for a walkthrough of how to apply for an account. Here is their most recent spreadsheet of ACE approvals. Tons of courses to choose from! DAU has established agreements with numerous universities for credit articulation
