Almost done...need help please
#1
Hello everyone. First of all, I want to say that I am deeply grateful for the members of this forum. I have completed 15 credits in the last 6 months just by CLEP examinations. Here is my dilemma though.. I currently have 118 credits and need to CLEP one more class in order to graduate this summer. From your prior experience, please help me choose the easiest one from this list (these are the only ones that I can CLEP out of). Thank you very much.

Western Civilization I
Western Civilization II
Humanities
American Gov't
Money and Banking (DSST)

Thank you very much for your time.

The only one of those tests that I've taken is Humanities, and I will say that it was NOT my easiest test. Wink Can't say about the others, though.

I have only taken American Government, but I am pretty familiar with the different exams as I work in the distance education field. Assuming no previous background in any of these areas, the Money and Banking DSST and Humanities CLEP would probably be your worst picks. Money and Banking is an upper-level test, and is pretty tough. Humanities is extremely broad and not a quick study. I would recommend reading up on the other three, and picking the one that looks like you would enjoy it the most. Best wishes, and congrats on being one test away from graduation!

I would say American Gov is kind of easy if you have taken any American History classes. Moreover, the flash cards are very good in this subject.

I've taken Humanities and American Government. As much as I love Humanities, American Government is probably easier -- it took me less time to study for (one week). IC's flash cards are excellent for Government, though believe me, there are a lot of them! Whichever you choose, IC with Wikipedia or REA supplement will be enough for a strong pass.

Well, I'm studying for Western Civilization I right now (due to take it September 1st), and it seems fairly easy. But then, I'm a history buff, so it could just be me. I have heard some negative things about American Government, but it all depends on the kind of person you are. If you are more of a literature/history/humanities person, I would go with one of the first three (although humanities might be kind of daunting because it's so extensive). If you enjoy politics or financial topics, then maybe the last two would be a better pick. Since you asked for our personal opinion, I would encourage the Western Civs, and I'll let you know how my test went when I'm through with it if you're interested. However, that's just my personal opinion, of course. I'm sure you'll do great whatever test you choose. Let us know what you pick!

I haven't taken any of those tests, but I made B's in both Western Civs at my university. The classes were pretty shallow, and flipping through the 2010 CLEP Official study guide, Western Civ. I seems fairly broad a shallow.

I'd shoot for that one.
