Labor Relations - ECE 3 $185
Management Info Systems - DSST 3 $88
Money and Banking - DSST 3 $88[/INDENT]This is my plan based largely on cost. What ever CLEPs I don't finish will go up but this puts the whole business requirement under $2,500. The two courses that I'm not sure of are Prod/Ops Management and Business Policy. The Excelsior site listed these under "Distance Learning" when I did the course search. They are only about 2/3 the cost of the same Excelsior classes.
If anyone has any better (less expensive or easier) ways to satify these requirements let me know. For the Operations Management and Business Policy credits, I'll be taking the TECEP exams. I checked with an advisor to make sure they are accepted, and they are. They're pricey at $420 (plus proctoring fees) a pop, but still cheaper than the Excelsior courses, not to mention less time consuming. Also, you have to find a proctor on your own based on their regulations; I will be using the local community college.

I'm on the BS-BGB degree course at Excelsior as well. I've attached my degree plan, in case you'd like to use it as a guide. I'm assuming you haven't enrolled yet. I hope it helps.

I just got back from taking this test (ECE). I passed after only using instantcert. (no knowlege of OB prior except for taking psychology in high school a good 8 years ago)
Knowing who proposes what theories (and how they differ from other theories) was very key.
Also, there were alot of "situational" questions...such as what theory of leadership is Johnny using when he fires 10% of the workforce to maximize profits?
Good luck!

Congrats on the pass Urbannaja!
yutzyj,
Financial/Mgmt Accounting = Principles of Accounting CLEP (Excelsior has a separate requirement but this is a 6 credit exam that covers both)
Computers = Information Systems & Computer Applications CLEP
Financial Management = Principles of Finance DSST
My plan is very similar to anar579's. I just wish that I knew a language to get those 12 credit hours. I'd planned on taking the DSST Organizational Behavior exam because they are easier for me to set up. Same reason that I'm looking into University of Nebraska for Operations Management and Business Policy. They are just barely more expensive than the TECEP exams and I get a whole course out of them. With Business Policy being a "capstone" class I don't mind taking the course.
Good Luck. I'm trying to get all this done before the big 4-0 next November...

Well done Urbannaja,
..And thanks for the feedback. It's good to know that this exam can be passed with Instantcert alone.
May I ask what grade you got?
My name is Rob

Excelsior BS-BGB.pdf Ana-
thank you so much for sharing that with me. it's a big help for me to see how things fit a little better. i am enrolled, but haven't spoken to a counselor for planning my degree yet. i wanted to get my feet wet and have a little better understanding for how things worked before i made that phone call. i enrolled when i did because i read that when you enroll, if things are changed, they go by your enrollment date and i'm a conservative person and wanted to know that i was locked in with these parameters. i plan on doing it very soon and your plan really gave me a great feel for how things break out. i also want to thank you for all your feedback on this site.
