Hi all... I just started studying with SL, Eng Comp2.
I want to submit my first draft of "Cartoon Analysis" to Straighterline before I submit my final draft, but I cannot find where "smartthinking" is...
Do I need to go smartthinking.com?
I know it might be lame question but I really appreciate if someone can help me to find how to use tutoring program! Thanks!

When you are logged into your class the Smarthinking link is located on the left hand side of the page under assignments.
Let me know if you need help.
Also, where did you locate your cartoon to write about? I have to do that assignment and am not sure where to look for one.
Thanks

Also, just to toss in my two cents on this... my son took the developmental writing a while back and they run it like the comp classes. You submit drafts to smarthinking. First off, we didn't know that unless it's stated, it's NOT a requirement- more of a courtesy for critique. So, he started off by doing everything through them. It can add days (and days....) to turn around time. We were trying to move through the class in a couple of months, but all that submitting and waiting before even turning in was just soooo long (and useless I hate to say- some draft feedback was "good job" nothing more! And it took 2 days to get...grrrr...) Also know that the tutors that provide those tips can be entirely different from the graders! On more than one occasion he got complete opposite suggestions from his tutors- I think one told him it should be longer, and then when he got his grade it said it should be shorter. Another I think was to be written in first person, and then when his tutor told him to change it it ended up being wrong....anyway....
Anyway, I have no idea if the smartthinking submission is required for you on drafts or not, but you might want to find out if you're on any kind of time crunch!

Oh really? I actually don't see "assignment" neither. When I log in to the course, I see Academics, Course completion status, Navigation and Settings...
I clicked every single one of them but I don't find it. Is it tech problem?
For cartoon analysis, I just searched "cartoon" on google images and picked one I liked.
I don't know if I picked right one or not, so I really want to make sure that I am doing okay.
Draft submission is not required, actually.
I am just afraid to get bad points. This is the first course I take in SL so I have no idea what kind of expectations graders have on mind.
I really want to finish the course fast! I am worried how long it would take me to get the feedbacks...
anyways, thank you for information!
