Explore Program: 6 potentially free RA credits for Canadian Citizens & PRs
#1
Canadian Citizens and permanent residents that can provide proof of enrollment in a university/college can get 6 free regionally accredited credits (lower level French/English) through the Explore Program. Although there is a $275 CDN deposit, they have sometimes reimbursed this in the past 2 years due to low uptake/desperation to increase numbers upon completing the program. The programs are directly offered at regionally accredited institutions (but keep in mind that some universities may not consider Canadian credits to be outright RA credits, like TESU).

Because of COVID-19, most of the programs are now online/virtual, but keep in mind they are full-time for 1 month. The deadline used to be in mid-February but because of low uptake from the programs being virtual, the deadline has been extended to the end of May.

You must check that the institutions you are applying for offer credits. If they do, they generally are 6 lower-level RA French/English credits.

Which one did you apply to? I assume it's one of the three offerings, I noticed the application deadlines have finished earlier in the year...

"Explore", for persons aged 16, 17 & 18+

Here is All the offerings from "https://englishfrench.ca/" (Canada, and its catchy government program names...)

"Explore 16, 17 & 18+" is what most of us will be after
Actual dual enroll high school students, may want "Odyssey" also

Email to me:

"Dear Jeff,

Please note that we cannot complete processing of your application because of the following issue(s):

Signed and stamped declaration form missing, illegible, or incomplete"

I have until the end of month to submit to deadline, as per program banner.. and further email: ... my advisor is on a USA long weekend celebrating "Memorial day" (akin to "Remembrance day", from name? WW1/WW2 thing?), I should have it tomorrow

"Explore 13–15 in-person sessions are currently full, but places remain available for the 13–15 virtual sessions. Many spots remain available for the Explore 16+ sessions—late applications are welcome.

The application portal will close on May 31, after which submissions will no longer be accepted. Submit your application without delay!"

Beware "not for credit offers" from the University of Victoria, BC (go for University of Saskatchewan)
/
You will be wait listed...
BUT, if you are English, learning French ... your in luck (Anglophone Canadians HATE "learning French", at least in The East/Ontario, and thats 7/10s of the pop) Learning French is not popular, you will likely get in, even "late"
/
In a VERY SHOCKING/RARE move by the Canadian Government, ... only Citizen's and PR holders (our greencard path to citizenship) can access to boot.. so its likely undersubscribed
/
The checks for citizenship appear, light, but "real" ... I assume it is only "glanced at" by admin staff
