Well I just went online at Excelsior and saw I failed Human Resource Management, supposedly one of the easier tests??? I studied only IC and thought I knew it inside and out; I wasn't too concerned with the test either. Man...this just sucks. Now I'm going to have to take another UL test even worse than this. That's what I get for getting too cocky...... This isn't doing my confidence a world of good seeing as I have only ECE exams left too.... Looks like I may be doomed to a classroom after all.

No worries. I have failed some myself(easy ones by one or two points). I know the feeling. There are plenty of other ECE tests to take though. Remember its still free for military to take tests and its better then sitting in a classroom with an instructor telling you "how the world is". Besides you already knocked out 24 credits in 6 weeks! Nothing to forget about. I need that!
Also, how did you get a B in Intro to Sociology? I thought Excelsior only counted that as Pass/Fail. I could use the GPA bump.

Well, make that 21 credits..... I was counting the proverbial chicken before the egg hatched. Now I'm even more worried about MIS and Drug & Alcohol....speaking of which, I need a drink! I think I'll study for Org Behavior as it will suffice for HRM. According to this forum, there have been quite a few failures for this using just IC though. After all they are guides for DSST LL credits, not ECE UL. Decisions Decisions... You're right though, it didn't cost me anything except time. Imagine spending the $$ just to find out you failed, I think I'd go on a bender for a week.
I agree with you on the sitting in class issue, some of the teachers I had were either so full of themselves or had little to no life experiences but were determined that everyone see things as they did. I was gagging with disgust for the entire class. I still did well, but the experience turned me off to classrooms.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I just failed CLEP HGD two weeks ago. It was a blow to the pride. Oh well.. It happens to the best of us. You win some you lose some.. Most of us have won more than we've lost..

No need to worry.
Of course you can always re-take the test down the road.
I failed American Government once and I know the working of the government fairly well..

I have taken 5 Excelsior UL tests, and I strongly recommend that you get at least one of the books they list for the course and study from it, using the Content Outline. I did not do this for the HRM and OG tests (I also just used InstantCert), and I got Cs on both. I'm trying to keep my gradepoint up, and was really NOT HAPPY! In order to get a good grade on an ECE test, you have to answer many more of the questions correctly, and it's not that hard if you've used the right book from which to study. If you do this, I think you'll be fine, or at the very least won't have to worry about not passing.

I completely empathize with your position having failed an exam once myself and it was supposed to be my last. I did of course adapt and overcome and meet my requirements. I failed because I rushed, you state that you got "too cocky" (another exam killer) but don't lose your confidence.
I see on your list both the "Civil War & USSR" exams left to go. Are these the DANTES exams or ECE? If Dantes, perhaps taking these two back to back might give you some ECE relief and able to stay on track.
Whatever you do, don't lose faith and confidence - you will succeed in the end!!

Brian,
You're right they are Dantes, not ECE. I forgot this because they are UL. I was cocky because the method of study up to that point had worked, however I didn't feel unprepared nor did I see anything that stood out on the exam either. Regardless of what I feel/felt, I still got a "D" so it doesn't really matter. I'm going to press on with Adulthood and Aging this week and retake this one at the 60 day mark. Thanks to all for your words or encouragement. Pressing on, Lee

So sorry to hear it, Lee. Hang in there. I'll bet you did great on the other test.
